We are excited to announce our first Bend Forest School S.T.E.A.M. Studio at Wondery Art + Adventure School!
This session will explore how ratios relate to the slope of lines on a graph. Students will investigate how ratios can be written as fractions and used to represent slope. Those who are ready will extend that thinking into understanding the equation of a line, including horizontal and vertical shifts.
Using these concepts, students will engineer their own artistic expressions of constantly changing slope, an early pre-calculus concept, by creating string art representations in both two and three dimensions.
As with all Bend Forest School programs, this experience looks at the whole child, supporting not only joyful academic learning, but also social-emotional development and community connection.
