Forest + Art Adventure Preschool

A collaborative program by Bend Forest School & Wondery Art + Adventure School

Forest + Art Adventure Preschool is a play-based program for children ages 3–5, meeting two days a week throughout the school year from 9:00am–1:00pm.

 

Each week children spend one day immersed in the forest at Bend Forest School and one day creating in the art studio at Wondery Art & Adventure School; two distinct environments that together offer a rich, whole-child experience.

Whether exploring the woods or working with clay, paint, and loose materials, every day is an emergent learning journey guided by children's natural curiosity and the joy of the process. We believe young children thrive when they have a safe space to get messy, move their bodies, feel their feelings, and explore their world — with caring adults as guides. Early literacy and math skills are woven naturally into play and projects, always following each child's lead.

Loose monthly themes offer gentle direction through provocations and projects, while leaving plenty of room to follow where children's curiosity leads — in the studio and in the wild.

 

Program highlights:

• 2 days/week: Wednesdays in the art studio at Wondery, Fridays in the forest at Bend Forest School

• Play-based, interest-led learning

• Emergent curriculum guided by children's curiosity

• Small 6:1 student-to-teacher ratio
